Explanation
The spot-welded strain gauge consists of a coil housing in which two small strain coils are fixed, and two end flanges connected by a tube. The vibrating wire of the VW spot-weldable strain gauge is tensioned between two end blocks that are spot-welded to the surface of the steel element. The wire is adjusted to vibrate at its resonance frequency. This frequency depends on the tension of the wire, which will change as the tension in the steel element changes. To obtain long-term healthy readings, the spot-welded surface must be sanded flat and then the welding process should be carried out. The strain gauge is equipped with a temperature device to compensate for temperature changes.
