Explanations

Vibrating Wire strain gauges consist of a stainless steel tube with flanges at both ends. Inside the tube, there is a vibrating wire that is held taut between the ends of the tube, along with coil windings that create a magnetic field around it.

The Vibrating Wire embedded strain gauge measures the tension between two end flanges fixed within the concrete. The wire will vibrate at a resonance frequency within a certain range. This frequency depends on the wire tension, which varies according to the strain in the concrete. Changes in frequency are directly measured by the Vibrating Wire reading unit, indicating strain or stress.

The Gerinim Ölçer is additionally equipped with a temperature device to balance temperature changes.

Features

  • It is not affected by cable length and resistance change.
  • The repeatability is quite excellent.
  • It compensates for temperature changes thanks to the embedded temperature device.
  • Automatic measurement is possible.

Standard

Standard Model Vibrating Wire Embedded Strain Gauge is designed to measure stress in reinforced concrete and mass concrete. By mounting 2 to 4 VW embedded strain gauges on suitable elements with different orientations, you can measure the magnitude, distributed direction, and bending of deformation. Once the strain gauges are embedded in structures such as dams and embankments, they can be used to understand the strain behavior in the structure.

Biaxial

The biaxial model is quite useful for measuring biaxial tensile stress in reinforced concrete, mass concrete structures, and shotcrete applications.

Miniature

When there is a limitation in the installation conditions, the super small-sized miniature model strain gauge can be used quite easily.
