Hollow Core – Cyclic Torsional Shear Testing apparatus, pc controlled, for investigating soil behavior of soil under monotonic or cyclic loading conditions.
Features
- Convictional Tri-axial capabilities (back-pressure saturation, consolidation and axial shear phases in drained and undrained conditions).
- Ability to control all three principal stresses acting on soil (e.g.,𝜎1, 𝜎2, 𝜎3).
- Option to perform torsional monotonic shear for studying soil static shear strength.
- Option to perform torsional cyclic shear for studying cyclic strength and liquefaction.
- Option to measure post-liquefaction shear strength.
Capabilities
- Torsional shear within a range of frequencies from 0.0125 Hz to 2 Hz at convenient strain level.
- Strain/stress- controlled user-defined irregular loading /strain tests.
- Consolidation in isotropic and anisotropic conditions.
- Triaxial or stress path shear test after torsional shear.
Data Logging
8-channel FastDAQ data logger with SD card backup data recording with free data logging software GeoGram.
Control
Stress & strain control test can be performed via GeoAnts Controller software.
Safety Features
Upper and lower stop-switch to stop actuator over travel.
Left and right stop-switch mechanism to stop actuator over travel.
Built-in software safety shut-off when sensors max out.
External Emergency stop, overcurrent and over temperature shutdown protection.
